Whenever 2 or more things need to come together, there needs to be a point of connection.

Whether the things are similar or different, they need a common point to connect or a place of intersection for them to operate effectively together, right?

A lightbulb needs a socket. A vacuum cleaner requires an electrical outlet. A battery needs to be plugged into a device or a charger. Ham and cheese come together at the point of bread to make a sandwich. You get my point!

At church, we see so many different kinds of people come through the doors of Father's House. They are tall/short, floofy/skinny, happy/sad, young/"experienced", healthy/challenged, varied educational/work/faith backgrounds, local/other, and more. All those differences and yet they come through the same doors on Sunday.

Once these different people enter those doors, they are all looking for something: comfort, peace, hope, friendship, healing, food (we offer a free meal together), coffee/tea, a familiar worship song, the word of God, something...... a connection.

Our doors open without judging. They open without an interview or knowing who you are. You can sit up close to the front or by the door. You can stand or sit during praise. You can chat with friendly faces or sit cross armed and avoid eye contact (although we will likely approach you anyway). The point is: you are there to make a connection. Some will seek you out. Others will wait for the connection.

Regardless of your need or desire ---- God is in His House and is offering you a connection.

To connect with His people.

To connect through prayer, song, scripture, preaching, teaching, a communal meal around a table, a coffee cup  or class.

You are connecting to HIM in His House.

All are welcome. You may see hope. You may see potential. You may see Jesus in the eyes of a stranger seeking to welcome you.

Of course you may run out the door or shrink back and slink away because fear of connection may make you avoid the connections available. Your own past might keep you from connecting. But the invitation is still there.

I have --- in a few moments -- connected with new faces through offering a hot meal, talking about dogs, discussing horses, comparing chickens we have raised, or even noticing a person's hair with a compliment or their accent.... it is in the looking for a common thing that we begin to connect.

We all are looking for connection. How deep it goes depends on you.

But GOD is here and He ALWAYS wants to connect with you. He is always available. He is always calling to you --- whispering your name and pulling you closer.

Instead of all the negativity around us --- let's look for the connections that are possible.

We were created for connectivity.

How connected are you?

Maranatha, y'all.

Jesus will be back. Stay ready and keep connected!
