I just noticed that this week's blog didn't show on this page.... ugh and I wrote one.

So here is my thought for the week:

What do you think about the issues we must deal with in America today?

There is so much anger, frustration, fear, etc.... but there are 3 issues that keep coming up in the news cycle:

Financial responsibility/debt

Sexuality (Moral/Immoral)

Immigration (Specifically the illegal type)

I have asked our church to do an assignment for this week to hand in.

They, as self-professing Christian believers/disciples) are to find 2-3 Bible verses to clarify God's expressed will regarding these issues.

When we have seen what GOD has to say on these issues, we can clarify our stance as Believers.

Instead of being led solely by the US Constitution and Laws of the land, or the Cultural icons of today, or the media, or even our own feelings/prejudices/experiences, etc., we should be led by the truth and expressed will of the Creator Yahweh God. We will ultimately answer only to Him one day.

The Church should feel compelled to follow God's word --- the One who never changes, is faithful, just, righteous, and holy. Without holiness, no one will see God. His will is to be done on Earth as it is in Heaven, right? Then maybe we need to suck it up -- stop being so political, prejudiced, prideful, argumentative, angry, fearful and anything else that runs contrary to God.

This week we will do the challenging, uncomfortable thing: seek the wisdom of God for living in today's world. Once we know the Truth, we must challenge ourselves to change to conform to His will or expect His correction, discipline and even rebuke.

We may need to change our attitudes. Our lifestyle. Our choices. Our words.

But if we want to hear, "Well done, GOOD and FAITHFUL servant. Enter into your reward," we will need to check our actions and words so that they align with God's.

As Betty Davis once said, "Buckle your seat belts. It's going to be a bumpy ride!"

God be with us as we move ahead.

Shalom, y'all. Yeshua/Jesus is coming back.

Stay prepared.

Fantastic homework. Look them up and get in touch with God's thoughts not ours. I plan on doing just that this evening.
